Changelog

Relevant changes for people who print practice sheets, fabricate 3D tools, reuse codes or teach with CalligraphyToolkit. Physical revisions are listed separately because an old printed tool must remain reproducible.

Current release · v0.10.1

12 September 2026

Navigation and discovery

  • Primary menus now use real canonical routes for Generator, Guides, 3D templates and Learn, improving shareability, browser history and SEO.
  • 3D templates opens the dedicated model page instead of jumping into the generator. The page presents predefined ruler/guide, roller, gauge and roller-accessory resources together with their explanations.
  • Letter examples now scroll to the visible letterform reference section, and the home hero includes a direct action to the ready-made sheet presets.

Codes and reproducibility

  • Code search results expose the decoded hand/script, nib type, nib width, x-height, nib angle and slant where available, so the result can be understood before opening it.
  • Printed model codes keep the encoded physical revision. When a newer revision exists, the application explains the difference and lets the user reproduce the original or deliberately try the newer design.
  • Printable sheets now carry an S1 sheet code, compact configuration metadata, a short /c/CODE URL and an offline-generated QR registration block in SVG/PDF exports.
  • A dedicated Codes & revisions page explains durable codes, version history and why physical revision numbers are part of model identity.

3D tools

  • Guide R4 adds six named trace-width profiles — 0.20, 0.35, 0.50, 0.70, 1.00 and 1.40 mm — plus a custom 0.15–2.55 mm throat. Historical R3 remains reproducible.
  • Copy SCAD and Download SCAD remain visible while source code is collapsed; model-code lookup is intentionally secondary and includes an explanation of what the code is for.

Previous release · v0.10.0

  • Introduced real section routes for the generator, guides, 3D templates, localized search and dedicated sheet/guide pages with canonical URLs and hreflang metadata.
  • Added local, build-shipped site search, short code URLs, revision-aware model loading, responsive model controls and mobile routing fixes.
  • Expanded 3D documentation with practical OpenSCAD rendering and slicer guidance, printable roller accessories and physical model registration.
  • Added Shodō, Chinese calligraphy and Korean Seoye practice systems alongside the Latin broad-edge and pointed-pen workflow.
  • Added feedback, privacy documentation, aggregate GoatCounter analytics and a shared public navigation system.

Earlier development · v0.9.x → v0.1

  • Built the client-side parametric practice-sheet generator with broad-edge, pointed and monoline nib workflows.
  • Added Uncial, Foundational, Italic, Textura and Copperplate presets with editable nib-width geometry, paper size, margins and slant guides.
  • Added responsive beginner/expert help, visual nib references, SVG export, print-at-100% calibration and OpenSCAD ruler/guide, roller and nib-gauge prototypes.
  • Added English, Spanish and German interface support and the first ready-made practice sheets.

Compatibility policy

A code identifies the exact printable or physical configuration that created it. New revisions are offered as a choice; they do not silently replace an older encoded revision. This is especially important for 3D tools, where a geometry change can affect fit or writing behaviour.
